DEPARTMENT: Testing
REPORTS TO: Shift Coordinator
POSITION TYPE: Hourly
POSITION PROFILE:
Works with limited supervision on team-based projects to set-up,
monitor and document tests based on engineering specifications,
while reporting any unusual test conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
*Minimum completion of a high school diploma; Community college
diploma from a technical program preferred.
*Minimum of one year experience in a technical role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Perform tests on customer-supplied products per specified test
methods in accordance with all quality and environmental
requirements.
*Set-up test as per customer specifications and collect,
document and maintain test results / observations to ISO 17025
requirements.
*Verify the calibration of test equipment prior to taking test
results.
*Monitor the status of tests and document this activity in
testing logbooks.
*Review new fixtures for conformance to the test methods and
highlight discrepancies to the shift coordinator.
*Notify the shift coordinator of any project conditions or
resource issues that may risk test timing, quality or customer
satisfaction.
*Identify and report unusual test conditions, broken or out of
calibration equipment and procedure violations to the shift
coordinator.
*Enter all test data into TAD’s accurately and promptly.
Create TIR’s if required to be approved by the shift
coordinator.
*Document all test observations, data, incidents, set-ups,
verifications accurately and in accordance with all ISO 17025
standards.
*Trouble shoot and repair fixture problems.
*Provide direction to other Test Technicians as required.
*Operate various tools, measurement instrumentation, and test
equipment.
*Maintain lab equipment in a safe, clean, orderly and
operational manner.
*Work in compliance with all Quality standards as outlined in
the CTC Quality Manual and propose continuous improvement ideas.
*Work safely and promote a safe work environment.
*Work in a timely and efficient manner.
*Maintain a clean and organised work area at all times.
*Follow all CTC rules and procedures.
*Perform other duties as required.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
*Proficient use of personal computer.
*Good mechanical ability.
*Familiar with and capable of using hand tools.
*Strong reading, writing and communication skills.
SPECIAL DIMENSIONS:
*Ability to work Continental night shift.
*Ability to work overtime to complete projects by set deadline.
*Ability to work in extreme environment conditions.
