We are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer! You will be responsible for the supervision of system start up, training clients on operation of equipment, troubleshooting, any problems and providing ongoing customer support. You would also responsible for all aspects of testing equipment in-house which includes providing supervision and instruction to Production Technicians.
Within your assigned set of customers you will supervise the startup of the equipment on-site at the customers site.
- Train customers in the use and maintenance of the equipment. Checking equipment manuals, and installation instructions
- Test and demonstrate chemical and physical performance of equipment.In-house testing of equipment and components
- Provide telephone support to customers after start up.
- Provide internal startup reports and startup letters to the customer.
- Various duties required as per procedures of ISO 9001
This position requires EXCELLENT communication skills as support to customers is provides both on the phone and in person to all levels of the customer as well as various internal departments to resolve customer issues. You will all require excellent written skills as you will be responsible for preparing all necessary documents and make arrangements for the startup at the customers plant and completing various reports internally and externally.
Be on rotating 24/7 call which involves wearing a cell phone and being within a cell phone range. Perform other work related duties as required by manager.
Required Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma as a Technologist.
Experience: Two (2) to Five (5) years hands-on experience; related industry experience an asset. Mechanical inclination, analytical reasoning, self-discipline, excellent interpersonal and communication skills including strong command of the English language, ability to adapt to various working environments including working on own.
IMPORTANT: EXTENSIVE TRAVEL (80% or more); overtime required. Own vehicle and MUST be in possession of a valid drivers license. Must be eligible to obtain Passport/Visa. MUST have previous experience in operating equipment (plant); ideally in a water treatment / power generation / petroleum operations.
