W&A is a leading provider of website development and programming,
website hosting, and internet marketing solutions. It was founded in
Toronto in 1994 and since its inception, has provided Internet
consulting services for over 125 companies in Canada, and the USA.
We are currently seeking a full-time Web Developer to create
customer-specific database-enabled applications in Perl and PHP, and to
maintain, extend and support our existing applications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create new web applications under the direction of the Senior
Developer
- Maintain and extend existing web applications
- Document and test
Essential Skills and Requirements
- Professional experience with a minimum of 2 years experience in web
development
- Strong Perl and PHP skills
- Knowledge of and interest in web development "best practices"
(templating, object-orientation, security, automated testing)
- Familiarity with other internet technologies (e.g. XHTML, _Javascript,
DHTML)
- Experience with other web development environments
(e.g. Java, ASP, ASP.NET) preferable
- Highly organized problem solver able to prioritize tasks
- A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
in English.
- This job requires an individual who has the ability to communicate
effectively with both technical and non-technical end users.
