To be honest with you

I have a similar feeling as yours. I haven't really encountered a solider programmer in IBM Singapore yet.

To be honest with you, I was a hardcore J2EE programmer/architect before joining IBM. I had worked in some really interesting companies developing J2EE applications with WebSphere and WebLogic. We even practice XP. I have published numerous articles on Java developing including EJB, Struts, ... I am still wrting. Besides reading, I am still training developers doing XP now.

But most of development works has been out-sourced to India and it continues. We don't have much job to do now, and most of companies can no longer pay my salary. So what to do?

Anyway, I appreciate your input. I want to find out these companies who would be interested in my experience. I can still do programming, but ...

    I've worked for IBM Global Services in Singapore for 2 years. My doman is software process improvement, includes software configuration management, change control, requirement management, defect prevention, measurement, ... I am also the Rational tools administrator covers ClearCase, ClearQuest, RequisitePro, Rose, TeamTest, ... The quality standard we followed is CMMI.

    Do you know any organization could be interested in these skills?

    • To be honest with you, you are only suitable for big companies with documentation requirements. IBMers normally don't have hands-on skills for fast-pace companies. Good luck.
