Senior Solution Engineer - Network Security

Requirements:
1. Minimum 3 years experience providing significant contributions to the development of enterprise solution designs across multiple business units, within healthcare, government or other complex sectors.
2. Minimum 8 years experience in a role of a senior network engineer designing networks in an enterprise setting with business critical applications.
3. Minimum 8 years' experience with Cisco Layer 3 switches, Layer 2 Switches (PoE and non) and Integrated Service Routers.
4. Minimum 8 years' experience with Network Intrusion Detection Systems.
5. Minimum 8 years' experience with Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance or Citrix Netscaler.
6. Minimum 5 years experience developing network designs within a security domain and applied within healthcare, government or other complex sectors.
7. 5 years' experience with the ability to produce written material that is concise, grammatically correct, and structured to communicate the intended message with high efficacy. Please describe two projects where you have performed this work.


The Technology Solutions portfolio is tasked with developing provincial and enterprise solution designs that support the Enterprise Architecture in the delivery and implementation of Centralized Healthcare Applications and Shared Technology services.

Under the general direction of the Data Centre Supervisor, Operations Centre and as a Senior Solution Engineer you are required to develop detailed design and configuration specifications to support the Manitoba eHealth security monitoring service implementation.

This position works closely with security, architecture, operations, business and privacy to balance operational and information needs for systems and applications. The Solution Engineer will be capable of multi-tasking and working on multiple projects.
The Solution Engineer, designs technical infrastructure solutions to support the standards and procedures set forth by the architecture group. These designs will provide clinicians and business users with effective solutions while standardizing and reducing IT complexity and cost

The Solution Engineer will work independently but under direction of a Project Manager and WRHA/eHealth leads.

The Solution Engineer will perform the following functions within multiple projects:
1. Understand User and System Requirements by interacting with the business analysts on the project
2. Understand Conceptual, logical and physical architectures by interacting with the architects on the project. Working with the Architect, vendors and other project team members, utilize the viewpoints of the architecture to engineer a technical solution with alignment to eHealth and project standards
3. Create product descriptions and assist the project manager to identify tasks, resources and effort related to the technology design
4. Realize the architecture through the design of the solution components that meet the functional and quality of the service requirements. This will include the creation of detailed design documents for the solutions and technical component configuration specifications.
* General duties as described in WRHA's IT-137-MB-011, Master Agreement

In addition to general responsibilities

The Solution Engineer will:

* Develop the overall Solution Design and related Infrastructure Requirements documents for Network Security focused shared services, including but not limited to the Manitoba eHealth security monitoring services project.
* Develop detailed configuration specifications for the in-scope infrastructure components. The configuration specifications will need to specify all of the settings required to achieve the desired component behavior (e.g. the configuration settings required to log the required information and transmit it to the security monitoring service.
* Contribute to the development and realization of an implementation plan and other artifacts to realize the solution design including
o Schedule, resources and budget
o Test and load plans addressing topics such as
- Data quality
- Quality of service testing (scalability, performance, security)
- Data migration, initial load
o Activation plan
o Operational impacts and requirements
o Training plan for new concepts and technologies
