Request Qualification:
- New position, purpose of project is to migrate compliance control room and employment monitoring application to C#
Experience:
- Exp. with C# and .NET
- Exp. with reporting software (SQL server, etc)
- exp. with database development and exp. with VB6 (migrate VB6 to C#)
- much of the time will be spent on development and unit testing of the app., some analysis exp. also required
- using Agile approaches but exp. with agile is not required
- must have excellent problem solving skill, software engineering practices (release management, testing, vision control), excellent communication skills, flexible
- Capital markets or financial exp. not required
- work environment’s culture is collaborative, no rigid rules
- team of 10 people, reporting to Associate Director, Application Architect
- 2 step interview process; both will be in-person, possible in the same day
- will qualify all resumes

Technical Systems Analyst – RBCM Compliance IT
Position Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to convert and enhance a key systems used by the Global Trading Compliance group. The position will be responsible for the migration of a legacy VB application to .NET, implementation extensions and enhancements of that system and integration of system extensions with standard RBC infrastructure. The role also involves providing 3rd level support for production issues encountered with these systems.
Key Accountabilities:
Primary Objectives:
§ Convert existing legacy VB6 application to C#/.Net
§ Implement various application components and perform integration and performance testing.
§ Work with infrastructure groups in requesting and implementing hard ware and soft ware.
§ Work with Information Security to review and implement controls and procedures for securely handling data.
§ Provide high-quality enhancement solutions that can meet Business needs.
§ Work closely with QA team to ensure high quality of the product
§ Work with Business Analysts to come up with optimal IT solutions for business problems
§ Perform design and code reviews and prepare technical documentations
§ Design, develop and execute unit test, system, integration and acceptance test
§ Ensure adequate technical documentation and follow ‘best practices’ within the IT teams
Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience):
Technical Skills
§ 7+ years of experience with distributed systems development including large volume databases, reporting systems, web applications, web services, messaging systems and ETL processes
§ Experise in C# and the .Net Platform.
§ Expertise with Sybase, SQL Server and related technologies: SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
§ Experience migrating VB6 applications to C# and .NET
§ Expertise in database design and tuning
§ Strong computer science fundamentals
§ Ability to implement software engineering best practices for version control, release management, unit and integration testing, work estimation and planning
§ Experience developing, maintaining, and deploying enterprise scale applications
§ Knowledge of HTML, CSS and web publishing
Business Knowledge
§ Knowledge of capital markets products and data.
§ Knowledge of capital markets trade surveillance requirements is an asset.
§ Knowledge of financial industry
Core Behaviors:
§ Ability to develop quality solutions for business problems.
