Description
The Senior Application Software Developer-I contributes to the completion of project deliverables and is accountable for the analysis, design, development, implementation, and support of applications to ensure and/or maintain alignment with the Lines of Business (LOBs) strategies.The incumbent will ensure that the development standards and processes will result in an efficient, stable and reliable environment for Basel and Credit Risk.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Managing the tasks and timelines to ensure project milestones are met
• Ensure that technical components adhere to existing standards
• Leveraging existing software and integrating the end product into the Basel and Credit Risk environment
• Keeping abreast of leading edge of development and ETL practices
• Understanding and clarifying business requirements, mappings and transformation objects.
• Developing robust, scalable applications and processes
• Building data quality checks into developed applications and processes
• An appropriate level of documented unit testing is performed prior to implementation
• Metadata is captured for all transformations and processes, and an impact analysis is carried out prior to any enhancements.
• Problems / errors are thoroughly investigated and resolved in a timely manner by involving the appropriate people in T&O.
• Processes and system enhancements are implemented to prevent reoccurrences of issues.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of development experience.
• 3+ years ETL development experience.
• Experience with developing in a UNIX environment (AIX experience is beneficial).
• Experience in managing very large amounts of data
• Experience with relational databases like DB2 and Oracle.
• Experience with the ETL tools (Ab Initio, Informatica) would be a definite asset.
