The city has a population of just over 170,000. Position Overview The Business Process Intern responsibilities will include working with the Planning and Building and the Information Technology Services departments to advance customer service by helping to implement online capability to improve customer access to Development information and application processes.
Responsibilities
These responsibilities will be carried out through:
Support to the E-Government team and the Planning and Building department Managers
Liaison between the division and other areas as it relates to online capability for development information and application processes.
Provide guidance and first level support for the new tools as they are deployed to the various groups.
Data development, collection and monitoring
Requirements
Candidates will be enrolled in third or fourth year of a University Business Administration program or a MBA co-op student or recent MBA graduate with previous study or interest in business process management. Applicants require strong skills including:
Technological Awareness - very good working knowledge of technology tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat writer and Visio. HTML knowledge would be considered an asset.
Communication - Proven and sustained communication (oral and written) skills, including ability to write persuasively in a clear and concise manner, and to communicate effectively orally.
Teamwork - Resourcefulness, proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a diverse environment with sensitivity and respect
Personal Discipline - Ability to focus on detailed tasks to achieve specified outcomes
Discretion- have the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential issues
