Established in 1935, Dominion Citrus Ltd is publicly traded food company that provides an integrated suite of services for fresh produce.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities.
• Providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts.
• Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
• Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
• Oversee the coordination and activities of independent auditors.
• Ensure adequate cash flow to meet the organization’s needs.
• Oversee the production of monthly reports including reconciliations, as well as financial statements and cash flow projects.
• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Develop systems and procedures for timely and efficient invoicing to clients to ensure continued cash flow.
• Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets.
• Manage Currency Exchange.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience.
• Certified Accountant (CA) preferred.
• Ability to apply conceptual, analytical and evaluative skills in accounting operations and provide technical advice to senior management.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English is essential.
• Strong Canadian GAPP knowledge and financial statement disclosure.
• Intermediate level experience with Computer software including: Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint and PDF.
• Experience on Navision software an asset
Job Status:
• 6 months contract, with possible extension
• $125,000-$150,000/year depending on experience
• Location: Ontario Food Terminal, 165 The Queensway, Toronto
